Our Story
From Home Portal to a full compliance platform
Merakey started from the team behind SeamlessCare's Home Portal, the system Ontario developmental services agencies already use to manage their operations. We spent years inside these organizations, watching supervisors and compliance officers work day to day.
What we saw was a sector drowning in manual compliance prep. 855 QAM indicators tracked in spreadsheets. Training records cross-referenced by hand. Supervisors working evenings and weekends before MCCSS audits, not because the data didn't exist, but because their tools couldn't surface it.
So we built Meridian, a compliance scanner that reads the data agencies already have and flags gaps against Regulation 299/10 automatically. Training expirations, eMAR issues, incident tracking problems, surfaced in minutes instead of weeks.
Then agencies started asking for more. They needed AI tools but couldn't send resident data to OpenAI or Google. With the average healthcare breach costing $10.93M and ECRI naming AI chatbot misuse the #1 health tech hazard of 2026, agencies needed infrastructure they could trust. That led to Sentinel, self-hosted AI agents that run entirely on Canadian infrastructure with no external API calls.
Healex came next, connecting pharmacy workflows and electronic medication administration to the same ecosystem. Three products, one mission: give Ontario DS agencies the technology they need without compromising on privacy or compliance.

Ontario's developmental services sector operates under some of the most detailed compliance frameworks in Canadian healthcare. Regulation 299/10 alone contains 855 indicators. QAM audits touch staff training, medication administration, incident reporting, individual support plans, and dozens of other areas that agencies must demonstrate compliance across.
But the tools available haven't kept pace. Most are general-purpose systems that require manual work to translate operational data into compliance evidence. With DSW turnover at 43% and budgets frozen, agencies can't afford to keep throwing staff hours at spreadsheet-based compliance prep.
